Máire McMahon

Máire McMahon is a proud native of Listowel in Co. Kerry, although her grandmother was originally from Ladyswell Street, in Cashel so she has some connection and lots of relations in the town of Cashel & Cahir.

Máire studied law in University College Cork and attended the University of East Anglia in Norwich, United Kingdom where she obtained a Masters in Family Law and Family Policy, and qualified as a Solicitor in 2001, the same year that she began working in Donal T. Ryan Solicitors LLP.

Máire is now the partner who heads the Cahir office, and is also family law specialist within the office. She now deals with all matters of family law, including attendance at court both District and Circuit Court, and High court, prenuptial / separation / cohabitants agreements, and matters dealing with children. Máire is a member of the Family Lawyers Association of Ireland and has also completed additional training as a collaborative family law lawyer.

In addition to family law, Máire also deals with all aspects of conveyancing; residential, commercial and agricultural. She holds a Diploma in Property Tax from the Law Society of Ireland. Máire has a keen interest in Charity Law and the governance of charities and holds a Certificate in Charity Trusteeship and Governance from the Law Society of Ireland in conjunction with The Wheel.

In her spare time, Máire served five years as National Vice President and Trustee of the Society of St Vincent de Paul, and continues to be an active member in the Society in the Clonmel area. She is also a trustee of a the St Bernard Children’s Services based in Fethard. Since January 2018 Máire is a member of the board of the Charities Regulatory Authority.   She is also a member of a book club that meets regularly and has an active interest in the all things literature, the arts and drama.
